Embroidery pillow

My sweet husband, bought me a new sewing machine with embroidery attachements for Christmas. This is the pillow I made with bible verses downloaded from Sewbirds' Stitches.  I thought it turned out lovely, my mom wants one for Christmas!

My favorite blessings

These are the six beautiful blessings that call me Nana.  It's hard to get them all together but I caught them at a birthday party!

Canning Soup and other goodies

We canned seven quarts of vegetable soup this morning!
We also put three trays of eggplant parmesan in the freezer.
Here is part of the 4 pints of okra we put in the freezer too.

And on top of that we made four loaves of zucchini/nut bread!  God has really been good to us this year, lots of rain and a beautiful garden!

Canning tomatoes!

My husband and I took a weekend mini vacation and I took off today also!  We came home to a lot of wonderful vegetables in the garden.  I actually got to can 9 pints of tomatoes this morning.  God is really blessing us this year!
We use a lot of tomatoes!

Old fashioned Gospel Singing

We enjoyed an old fashioned Gospel Singing last night!  So much fun to sing all those old hymns we know so well.  Really enjoyed seeing people we haven't seen for a long time and it was such a good praise service.

Easy Peach Cobbler

It seems like forever since I've posted!  Life does have a way of taking over your free time.  However, it's the Fourth of July and I don't have to work.  Our garden is doing great and while my husband puts up an electric fence to keep out the deer, I have made a easy peach cobbler.  Any fruit will do!

Easy Peach Cobbler

1 stick butter
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 cup all purpose flour
2 cups sugar
3/4 cup milk
2 cups fruit of your choice

Melt butter in a 9 x 13 baking dish.
Make your batter with the flour, baking powder, milk  and 1 cup of the sugar.
Pour batter over the melted butter, do not stir!
Add the fruit on top of batter, do not stir!
Sprinkle remaining cup of sugar on top of fruit and bake at 325 for 1 hour.

I should have taken a picture!
